Yoga therapy is the process of empowering individuals to progress toward improved health and well-being through the application of the teachings and practices of Yoga.

My Name is Bree Morena de Santos, I am a Lover of  Yoga!

I began my interest in Yoga Therapy in 2012, I had the great pleasure of working with Bea Doyle former owner of a lovely (still a lovely) yoga studio named Bhava. Bea was one of those yoga teachers that exuded the practice wholeheartedly. She was inspiring.

I remember learning that she was a Yoga Therapist and at that time, there were few, especially in my city. However, I would begin my journey through Ayurveda studying with Vasant Lad at The Ayurvedic Institute before making my way back to the study of yoga therapy.

In 2018, I entered into a 500 Hour Yoga Teacher Training, which was a ViniYoga inspired clinical therapeutic yoga training.  I would later discover it also qualified as an International Association of Yoga Therapist Module 1 800 Hour Yoga Therapy Program. During this time, I would take another 300 Hour Yoga Teacher Training to meet Yoga Alliance's requirements, and continue my specialized training in areas of Trauma-Informed Yoga, Prenatal & Children's Yoga. I also became a Doula in the midst of it all. The pandemic would change my entire world! I decided to go back to graduate school and study in a doctorate program for Neurodiversity in Education which I completed in 2023.  I can honestly say that my dharma has been that of a student for the last several years.

My true love of yoga was really activated as a teacher trainer.  With a group of incredible therapists and counselors we started Sacred Space in 2020, where we worked with clients who suffered from chronic mental and physical conditions and I represented our group as the resident yoga specialist. That is when I Love Yoga School was born, a not-for-profit Advanced Training School for yoga lovers! Where we have hosted several Trauma sensitive trainings, prenatal and post-natal trainings and Advanced Adaptive Teacher Trainings at the 500 hour level.  I am now hopeful that our efforts to support underserved communities will result in a Non-profit designation where we can continue to raise funds, offering yoga therapy to those who need them without the concern of out-of-pocket expenses.

I am honored to be on this journey, as it has done wonders for my own YOGA.

Om Shanti Om!

Namaste, Bree
